I know Lym prefers a very formal, asexual fashion style. Personally I just wear whatever’s in my wardrobe, but now that I’m close to having my perfect body, I have to start thinking about fashion and style for the organization.

The Case Against a Shared Fashion

I thought against having a singular fashion style for the organization. Rather, the members should work towards an individual expression, with the only restriction being to express it well, something that can easily be achieved with care, and with the health and hygiene requirements that allow for a good body to display.

There’s also a disadvantage to homogenous identity in having fashion, in that being easily identifiable by being attached to the organization identity makes the members determined by the organization’s reputation.

The Case For a Shared Fashion

In terms of our own social theory, dress can have great communicative impact. It can be a simple, covert way of expressing mood, or the state of the social organization.

It can increase rapport, for example while without a shared fashion, there wouldn’t be much keeping us together except our shared ideology. The thought of others wearing the same things we wear is more “connecting”, and will feel more pervsive in our lives.

Style Guide

I’ll need to copy’s Lym’s document on our design system here and link it, but I’ll add a few of my own ideas on the fashion as somebody who doesn’t know anything about fashion.

Hormonal Fashion
Fashion that depends on the “state” of the organization. If the organization goes low key, then it dissolves into individualist styles. If the organization wants to show itself formal, then it goes for a formal system. If the organization is trying to integrate with a culture, it switches. Basically, the fashion is determinant by the organization’s needs and desires.
Mood Fashion
Fashion that communicates mood to other members, so that they receive the proper treatment. It’s an indirect way of exhibiting response. This is similar to wearing black in grief, but which has lost meaning now. So in a depressed mood, you wear symbolic clothing of it to illicit greater aid.

These fashions would really only work if the organization was close. Honestly, just fucking go with what you want to do, this is stupid.
